Eight massive UK carp over 29 nights!

CARP maestro Craig McEvoy could probably have caught a bare hook before the UK went into lockdown, and his purple patch included this 56 lb 4 oz common.

Craig bagged the fish called Ellie (pictured above) to equal his PB common. In doing so, he made it an astonishing EIGHT 50s in just 29 nights.

The 40-year-old operations manager enjoyed his phenomenal form at The Avenue in Shropshire.

He explained: “It’s been amazing, and the transformation has come about from an experiment way back to last March.

“It is the use of three liquids, namely Dynamite Red-Amo liquid, Tigernut Evolution Oil and Evolution Hemp Oil plus natural hemp juice.

“Mix them together and you have a ultra high attract liquid that when applied to frozen boilie sees it suck in the ultimate attraction… the carp love it.

“Over the weekend session I applied 5 kg of the specially treated Monster Tigernut boilie crumb and particles.

“It was on the final evening that I saw subtle signs of carp on one of my prebaited spots that I was yet to put a bait on.

“Subtle whirlpools from the tail patterns of carp saw three fish landed including Ellie plus mirrors of 35 lb 8 oz and a Big Rig stockie C3 at 18 lb.

“I am sure I will never repeat this feat ever – 29 nights and eight UK 50s. It will even give the great Mark Holmes a run for his money.

“Honestly, the lake had been fishing really hard, with only a handful of other captures all year. I reckon other than mine there’s probably been about another 15 fish out.

“Ellie equalled its top weight, but it could definitely hit the 60 lb barrier as its a slow grower and it’s maintained that weight now for over a year,’ concluded Craig, from Wednesbury, West Midlands.

Craig tamed his specimen using a 12 ft Free Spirit Hi-S 3.5 lb test curve rod matched with a Shimano Ultegra XTD 14000 reel, with 16 lb Big Carp Tiger Line fluorocarbon main line and a size 8 Pallatrax Gripz hook.

All UK venues are currently closed to fishing due to the coronavirus lockdown.
