SPENCER KING got an almighty surprise when this 31 lb pike snapped up his crust.

The surprise snapper came on floating bread at Leggett Lakes on the Kingscote Estate in West Sussex.
Spencer was seeking carp at the £20-a-day water.
His cousin, Ashley Pearman, said: “It was a total shock that Spencer caught a 31 lb pike on floating crust.
“The fish was netted by myself, weighed and then returned to the water by the bailiff.
“Our grandfather regularly took us fishing and I started when I was two and a half – I am now 61.
“I am one of three cousins and we still regularly fish together.
“They are both ten years older than me and in all our years of fishing it is the first time we’ve been aware of a pike being taken on bread.”
