NATIONAL ANGUILLA CLUB social officer Nick Duffy recorded his second biggest eel with this 6 lb 14 oz specimen from a Worcestershire stillwater.

The 45-year-old welder, from Birmingham, West Midlands, came within 2 oz of his eel personal best caught back in 1993.
He did it using a roach head on a size 6 Ashima hook to a 35 lb Kryston Quicksilver trace.
The National Anguilla Club was formed in 1962. It is one of the longest, if not the longest continuously running specimen groups ever formed.
The club was formed to study Anguilla Anguilla, the freshwater eel, and how to catch them.
Membership includes two magazine copies per year, fish-ins (a chance to meet, swap ideas and generally have a great social time), a winter social, regular newsletters and an active forum. Find out more at the website.
