PERCH fan Joe Royffe is enjoying a memorable late summer/early autumn bonanza on his local River Lea Navigation
In-form Joe notched his second biggest stripy with this 4 lb 10 oz specimen, for another star appearance in Angler’s Mail magazine – the No.1 weekly.
Cheshunt, Hertfordshire-based Joe float paternostered a gudgeon livebait float, with 6 lb Daiwa Sensor line and size 6 Kamasan B983 hook.
Joe said: “As I walked along with childhood memories coming back to me, I decided to settle in a swim where I caught my first ever fish when I was about seven; a perch of around 3 in. long.
“I had only been there fishing for a matter of minutes when I had a aggressive take on the right-hand rod, and I struck immediately almost in a panic.”
