SCOTT CORDINGLEY kick started his river season with this PB 2 lb 3 oz roach.

Ashford, Kent-based Scott tackled his local Kentish Stour legered bread flake near an overhanging tree.
Scott said: “I worked my way down the river to the usual swims which by now were covered in nettles, needless to say it wasn’t a smart idea wearing shorts.
“After clearing a gap I managed to swim my bait under an over hanging tree, the river is about 3 ft wide by 12 inch deep in some places.
“I watched as the bread flake settled on the bottom and a fish darted out from under the tree to inhale the bait, a small scrap later and this fine looking 2 Ib 3 oz roach was in the net.”
