CHECK out this stunning stripy – the biggest perch of the year so far.
Ben Smith obliterated his PB with the giant perch of 5 lb 3 oz – and he starred with recently on the cover of Angler’s Mail magazine.
The super stripy came from a secret East Anglian river on a 9 cm Spro Boobytrap Pink Harrasser shad lure with a 5 g jighead.
The 35-year-old paint sprayer, from Stalham, Norfolk, said: “It is my new PB and most probably always will be.
“My previous best was 3 lb 11 oz and before that 3 lb 8 oz all from this winter.
“I knew the perch went big on this river with the potential of a four-pounder but never thought it would do a five. The session was a short one at first light.”
