RICHIE MARTIN had this stunning personal best 6 lb 8 oz orfe from Newdigate Fishery in Surrey on float fished red maggots.
Ringwood, Dorset-based Richie backed the fish up with a 5 lb 13 oz sample and a few smaller ones around the 3-4 lb mark.
Golden orfe are the ornamental version of ide, with the Latin name Leuciscus idus, and the British record stands at 8 lb 5 oz caught back in 2000 by Michael Wilkinson at Lymm Vale, Cheshire.
