SPECIMEN ace James Crameri, who has one of the most impressive coarse fish PB lists, smashed his chub record with this 7 lb 13 oz giant.

James beat his old PB of 7 lb 6 oz from the River Lea when he tackled his favourite Great Ouse chub swim, in Buckinghamshire.
The 48-year-old from Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk, explained all to Angler’s Mail.
“I caught it just into dark from a favourite swim on the river as it was fining down after the floods we had recently,” said James.
“The swim I fished gave me two different 7 lb chub last season so I knew it had got good form.
“It was the only bite of the evening although, in fairness, I didn’t fish much longer after catching it as my desire to continue had been overtaken by the size of the chub I’d just caught.
“I caught the fish from a crease where the depth of water had increased from a little further from upstream.
“Tactics were a simple legered boilie on a semi-fixed rig cast into the crease with a PVA bag of loose offerings on the hook.
“I use stepped up tackle as there’s a chance of a barbel as well. I had 12 lb main line and a 15 lb braided trace to size 8 hook, and a 2 oz semi-fixed lead completed the set-up.”
Great Ouse chub was no flash in the pan
“It’s my second ‘7’ of the autumn as I had another one of 7 lb 8 dr taken on similar tactics a few weeks ago,” revealed James.
“It’s been really good to finally get a big ‘7’ off the river as over the last few years I’ve had a number of low 7s. It’s been exciting to get a new PB,” he added.
The Greater Anglia train station supervisor’s jumbo Great Ouse chub adds to his amazing list of personal bests.
James’s fantastic logbook includes barbel to 18 lb 15 oz, zander 16 lb 11 oz, carp 44 lb 8 oz, tench 10 lb 4 oz, rudd 2 lb 15 oz and bream 21 lb 12 oz.
