CARP ace Craig McEvoy is in the form of his life, landing his seventh UK 50 in 11 months, this PB 58 lb
8 oz mirror.

Named Sweet Cheeks, the giant carp was the highlight of another epic session for the 40-year-old operations manager.
Craig also landed other mirrors of 44 lb 4 oz, 44 lb 2 oz and 42 lb 12 oz from Shropshire’s The Avenue.
“It was hair-raising at times in a mega storm, but worth it,” said Craig, from Wednesbury, West Midlands.
“It’s crazy that it’s February, and to have a 100 lb brace in an hour was very special indeed.
“Tactics were two Dynamite Red-Amo pop-ups cast tight to a baited area between two bars, heavily baited with crushed boilies loaded with liquid and oil.”
Bubbles give away Sweet Cheeks
Craig continued: “After slipping back Jacko, at 42 lb 12 oz, I was just sorting that rod when I noticed a big flat spot appear over the baited area.
“I looked through the binoculars and could see a couple of bubbles breaking the surface.
“Then I had two bleeps and a slight twitch of the bobbin. I was hovering over the rod like a gunslinger in the Wild West.
“Two more bleeps and I pulled the trigger, and I was in.
“The fish was an animal, going on a 40-yard run through a gap in the two bars, but I slowly worked her back towards me before an epic battle under the rod tip as she dived for an overhanging tree.
“I somehow bungled her into the net first time. The biggest mirror in the lake, Sweet Cheeks.”
