JAMES THOMSON is having a great season with PB rudd, eel and barbel and continued his form with his first ever zander of 12 lb 4 oz.

The 32-year-old operations administrator from near Lincoln was convinced zeds were around a prebaited barbel area of the River Trent near Nottingham.
He wisely decided to try for them and freelined a roach in 18 inches of water just a metre out.
