AFTER a few weeks of blanking, persistence paid off for Paul Faint with this PB bream at 16 lb 1 oz.
The Waltham Abbey, Essex-based spessy angler targeted a local Lea Valley pit which he pre-baited with pellet, corn and dead maggot.
The construction manager then legered double plastic pop-up corn on a size 12 Pallatrax hook with braided hooklength.
His catch was featured on the hallowed Fish of the Week page of Angler’s Mail magazine, also winning him £100 of top tackle from Korum via the magazine’s Korum Specimen Cup.
