REIGNING Korum Specimen Cup winner Phil Smith got his 2016 crucian carp campaign in fine style with this 4 lb beauty from the Marsh Farm complex in Surrey.
Coventry, West Midlands-based Phil added another of 3 lb plus 13 tench up to 6 lb 2 oz using rubber casters on a flatbed feeder and Sonubaits Sweet Fishmeal groundbait to size 12 Drennan Carbon Chub hooks.
Phil, who won our Korum Specimen Cup after a brilliant 2015 with many species, said: “It was quite difficult fishing and these were taken on a 60 hour session, the two crucians coming midday on two different days.”
